Speed Racer 4K Release, John Carpenter's Cathedral, and Reimagined Transformers Soundtrack Announced

HOLLYWOOD — Speed Racer in 4K. The Wachowskis' live-action vision of the anime classic is out now in 4K UHD. Star Emile Hirsch says it was a dream making the film with the directing duo and is excited about its resurgence.

"I was always such a huge fan of the Wachowskis because of The Matrix," Hirsch said. "And then I had actually auditioned for Matrix 2 and 3 as the kid who was sort of played by a guy a little bit older. And I had incredible auditions with them and they're such amazing people. And so I was able to kind of come back in and try my Speed Racer audition."

From the mind of John Carpenter comes a soundtrack to a graphic novel. Carpenter, along with musical collaborators Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies, are releasing "Cathedral" on August 7th. The album is a companion to Carpenter's "Cathedral" graphic novel, which comes out August 4th.

That's the Knights of Unicron featuring Stan Bush on vocals performing "The Touch." The classic 80s song comes from the soundtrack to the original animated Transformers movie. Hasbro announces the release of "The Transformers: The Movie" soundtrack, the reformatted edition featuring 10 reimagined songs from the movie. The album drops July 24th digitally and on limited edition vinyl.
