An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Monday, May 25, 2026!

As an upper-level closed low moves through the Southwest, winds will be an issue through mid-week.

On-shore winds will become occasionally gusty during the afternoon and evening hours today, followed by stronger Westerly winds on Tuesday and Wednesday.

A Wind Advisory has been posted for the West end of the Coachella Valley into the San Gorgonio Pass, parts of the High Desert and area mountains between Tuesday afternoon and Thursday morning.

Because of strong winds, elevated dust and dirt may lower the air quality around the Valley.

This disturbance will also cool temperatures. The Coachella Valley will experience highs in the middle-90s today, followed by upper-80s/lower-90s on Tuesday, then around 80° Wednesday and Thursday.

The Valley will return to the 90s by the this coming weekend.
