Cathedral City To Temporarily Rename Two Streets in Honor of Students

CATHEDRAL CITY (CNS) - Two streets will be temporarily renamed
tomorrow to honor two high school students from Cathedral City for their
academic excellence, officials said.

The students being recognized at the Annual Student Street Naming
Ceremony are Matthew Bustamante of Mt. San Jacinto High School and David
Delgado-Naranjo of Cathedral City High School.

Cathedral City Mayor Raymond Gregory, along with the City Council, is
set to unveil the first street sign at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of
Landau Boulevard and McCallum Way near Mt. San Jacinto High School, honoring
Bustamante.

The second unveiling will be at 8:15 a.m. at the intersection of Date
Palm Drive and Dave Kelley Road near the Cathedral City Library, honoring
Delgado-Naranjo.

The streets will be renamed for one year.

Bustamante graduated from MSJHS a semester early and is now attending
College of the Desert pursuing his goal to become an architect. Delgado-Naranjo
is an international baccalaureate candidate and will be attending UC Berkeley
in the fall to study civil engineering.
