Palm Springs Police Manager Honored at Memorial Day Luncheon

CATHEDRAL CITY, California — A longtime employee of the Palm Springs Police Department was formally recognized for decades of exceptional public service on Monday. Police Services Manager Heather Topliff received a special honor at the 20th Annual Memorial Day Awards Luncheon held at the Cimarron Golf Resort in Cathedral City.

The holiday event was co-hosted by American Veterans (AMVETS) Post 66 and Veterans for Peace, bringing together local veterans, public safety officials, and community leaders. Topliff was celebrated for her 25-year career in public safety communications. She originally joined the department as an emergency dispatcher in 2001 and steadily rose through the ranks to her current managerial role, where she now oversees both the dispatch and records divisions.

During the presentation, officials commended Topliff for her strong leadership, crisis management skills, and long-standing dedication to improving local emergency response operations. Topliff expressed immense gratitude for the recognition, sharing credit with her team members and emphasizing the true meaning of the holiday.

Topliff noted that the milestone was a reflection of the collective effort of her colleagues, stating that she could not have reached this point on her own. She reminded those in attendance that the day ultimately transcends personal accolades, emphasizing that the holiday is truly about remembering and respecting the brave individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice for the country.
