Preliminary Hearing Postponed Again for Silvercrest CEO Facing Murder Charges
INDIO, California — The preliminary hearing for Coachella Valley advertising executive and Silvercrest CEO William Rodriguez was delayed once again this morning at the Larson Justice Center in Indio.
Rodriguez is accused of hitting and killing a Cathedral City woman, Christina Barrington, while she was riding an electric scooter, and subsequently fleeing the scene. Prosecutors allege that Rodriguez struck Barrington with his Porsche before driving away.
The prominent local executive was not present in court for the brief morning session. He faces multiple felony charges, including murder, hit-and-run causing death, and driving with a suspended license. Rodriguez has previously pleaded not guilty to all of the charges against him.
The legal proceedings have faced multiple delays over the past several months. The defense team requested the latest postponement, stating they are still waiting to receive outstanding discovery and forensic evidence from prosecutors. Following the morning's scheduling adjustment, the judge officially rescheduled the preliminary hearing for August 3.
