Silvercrest CEO's Preliminary Hearing Pushed to August After No-Show

The preliminary hearing for William Rodriguez, the Silvercrest CEO charged in the 2024 death of 60-year-old Christina Barrington, ended in a continuance Tuesday after Rodriguez did not appear at the Larson Justice Center in Indio.

Rodriguez is accused of striking Barrington with his Porsche sports sedan while she was riding a scooter with her pet, then driving away without stopping. He faces charges of murder, hit-and-run causing death, and driving with a suspended license, all of which he has pleaded not guilty to.

The case has faced multiple delays as the defense waited for evidence from prosecutors. The preliminary hearing is now rescheduled for August 3rd, where a judge will determine whether there is enough evidence to send the case to trial.
