Vampires, Redheads, and Paper Airplanes: Test Your Holiday Knowledge with Jerry

May 26 is packed with some of the more surprising entries on the holiday calendar. National Paper Airplane Day invites everyone to celebrate the humble sheet of paper folded into a flying machine, and Jerry brought three models to prove the art is very much alive. World Redhead Day shines a light on the roughly 2% of the global population born with red hair. And perhaps the most dramatic of today's observances, World Dracula Day, marks the anniversary of Bram Stoker's gothic horror novel being published on this date back in 1897.

In the spirit of Dracula Day, Jerry put together two trivia questions to see how well the morning team, and you at home, know their vampire history.

Pop Quiz: Two Dracula Questions

  1. 1) The gothic horror novel Dracula, written by Irish author Bram Stoker, was published in 1897. Since then, several film versions have been produced featuring actors like Christopher Lee and Gary Oldman. But which actor played the lead role of Dracula in the very first American film version in 1931?

A) Bela Lugosi

B) Boris Karloff

C) Vincent Price

  1. 2) With lyrics referencing zombies, Wolfman, Dracula and his son, the Monster Mash has long been a Halloween staple since its debut as a single in 1962. It was credited to Bobby "Boris" Pickett and his fictitious backing band. What was that band called? It is also referenced in the song's lyrics.

A) The Crypt Kickers

B) The Edgar Allen Joes

C) The Necrophiliacs
