Cold Case Investigators Seek Public’s Help Identifying Woman Found Dead in Desert Center

Investigators with the Riverside County Regional Cold Case Homicide Team are hoping new forensic technology can finally help identify a woman found dead in the desert more than three decades ago.

Authorities have released a new rendering of the unidentified homicide victim, whose body was discovered near Eagle Mountain Road in Desert Center in October 1994.

Investigators say workers with Southern California Edison found the woman’s body in a remote area north of Interstate 10.

Officials believe the victim was between 25 and 35 years old and stood about 5 feet tall. She was also wearing a necklace featuring a ship’s wheel and anchor medallion.

According to investigators, an ancestry profile suggests the woman may have been of Southeast Asian descent.

Authorities are now urging anyone with information about the victim’s identity or the case to contact investigators using the number displayed on screen.
