Justice Department Subpoenas Georgia Poll Workers From 2020 Election

The Justice Department is seeking the names of poll workers who helped run the 2020 presidential election in Fulton County, Georgia, issuing a federal subpoena to get that information. DOJ lawyers say a grand jury has requested the details as part of an ongoing investigation.
Fulton County's election office is asking a judge to block the subpoena, calling it an "invasive fishing investigation." A county lawyer warned the effort could discourage people from volunteering as election workers in the future.
Federal prosecutors have already seized all of Fulton County's 2020 election ballots and other voting materials. Fulton County has long been at the center of former President Trump's unsupported claims that widespread fraud in the county cost him the state of Georgia in the 2020 race against Joe Biden.
A judge has not yet ruled on the county's request to block the subpoena.
