New Poll Shows Steve Hilton Leading California Governor’s Race
A new poll has been released in the race for California governor as the June primary election is now just one week away.
The latest survey from Echelon Insights shows Steve Hilton leading the field with 25 percent support.
Tom Steyer is in second place with 18 percent, followed by Javier Becerra at 15 percent.
Chad Bianco, the Riverside County sheriff and Republican candidate in the race, received 12 percent support in the poll.
According to the survey, Hilton and Steyer were the only candidates to post gains in voter support compared to previous polling.
California’s top-two primary system means the two candidates receiving the most votes in the June election will advance to the November general election.
