Blue Zones Project Expands Workplace Wellness Efforts in Coachella
The Blue Zones Project is continuing to expand its wellness efforts in the city of Coachella through new partnerships focused on healthier lifestyles and community wellbeing.
Blue Zones Project Coachella, which officially launched last year, recently recognized Ocean Mist Farms as its first approved worksite within the places sector after the company completed the organization’s validation process.
The approval celebration took place during Ocean Mist Farms’ annual health fair. As part of the initiative, the worksite will implement several wellness-focused practices including employee self-monitoring health equipment, designated walking routes, and participation in the Blue Zones personal pledge program.
Organizers say the goal is to encourage healthier habits while creating stronger connections and a greater sense of purpose throughout the community.
Leaders involved with the project say Coachella’s hardworking culture can often place work ahead of personal wellbeing, and they hope initiatives like this will encourage residents to prioritize both physical and mental health.
Supporters also highlighted future plans aimed at improving walkability and connectivity across the region, including possible connections to the CV Link trail system.
Officials say Blue Zones Project Coachella will continue partnering with local organizations and employers as part of its broader three-year initiative, which aims to approve 25 percent of worksites within Coachella city limits while promoting long-term, sustainable community health improvements.
