Pet of the Week: Meet Charlie

Veronica Perez from Riverside County Animal Services joined us this morning with Charlie, a neutered tricolor shepherd mix who is about eight months old and already stealing hearts. Charlie came in on April 10 and has been at the Coachella Valley shelter for just over a month. At 52 pounds, he is sweet, affectionate, and handled his TV debut like a pro.

Riverside County shelters are currently 220% over capacity. Veronica says fosters are just as needed as adopters right now, so if you have been thinking about opening your home, even temporarily, now is a great time to visit the shelter.

Also looking for homes are Quest, a one-year-old Siberian Husky who arrived April 22, and Daniel, an 11-month-old Pit Bull Terrier mix who came in on May 14. Both are good with other dogs. Three bonded sister kittens, Flora, Kiki, and Nova, just turned eight weeks old and are now available for adoption after arriving together on May 24.

And there is even more reason to visit soon. California Adopt-a-Pet Day is coming up on Saturday, June 6, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with zero adoption fees at the Coachella Valley Animal Campus, the San Jacinto Valley Animal Campus, and the Western Riverside County/City Animal Shelter. All adopted dogs and cats come spayed or neutered, microchipped, and with their first round of vaccines.
