Concrete work on South Palm Canyon Drive bridge to cause delays Friday

The City of Palm Springs is pouring concrete on the South Palm Canyon Drive bridge Friday morning, and drivers should expect delays along that stretch for most of the day.

Work began at 6 a.m. and runs through 3:30 p.m. Traffic flaggers will be stationed at both ends of the bridge to guide construction trucks in and out of the job site. The city is asking drivers to use alternate routes for the bulk of the day.

Businesses in the area remain open and accessible during construction, the city says. The schedule could shift depending on the weather or conditions on the ground.
