June Brings Big Screens and Bigger Names to the Desert
Summer movie season is officially here, and June is shaping up to be one of the busiest months at the multiplex in years.
The month kicks off June 5th with three films hitting theaters at once. "Masters of the Universe" brings the classic franchise back to life, while "Power Ballad" offers a music-themed dramedy for those looking for something a little lighter. Rounding out opening weekend is "Scary Movie," a send-up of the horror genre.
The following week, on June 12th, Steven Spielberg returns to alien territory with "Disclosure Day," his latest take on visitors from outer space.
Then comes what may be the most anticipated release of the summer. Buzz, Woody, and the rest of the gang are back on June 19th in "Toy Story 5," more than a decade after the last installment. Sharing that weekend is "The Death of Robin Hood," starring Hugh Jackman in the title role.
The month closes out June 26th with "Super-Girl," the follow-up to last year's "Superman." Milly Alcock stars in the title role, with Jason Momoa playing Lobo, an intergalactic bounty hunter.
For anyone looking to beat the desert heat, theaters are offering both reserved seating and, of course, air conditioning.
