Election Day Underway Across Riverside County as Voters Head to the Polls
It is officially Election Day, and thousands of voters across Riverside County are heading to the polls to take part in California’s statewide primary election.
Voting centers and ballot drop-off locations are open now through 8 p.m., giving residents across the Coachella Valley time to cast their ballots.
At the voting center inside the Palm Desert Community Center, voters are being reminded that this election site has moved from the nearby library and is now operating at the community center across from College of the Desert.
Election officials say same-day voter registration is available, meaning eligible residents who are not yet registered can still sign up and vote in a single visit.
For those dropping off mail-in ballots, officials stress the importance of making sure envelopes are properly signed and dated. If dropping off a ballot for a family member or loved one, all required signatures must be completed to ensure the vote is counted.
Several voting and ballot drop-off sites are available throughout the valley, including locations in Palm Desert, Palm Springs, Cathedral City and Indio.
Residents can find a complete list of polling places and ballot drop-off centers at NBC Palm Springs.
