Highway 74 Shut Down After Fatal Road Rage Shooting Investigation
Breaking news along Highway 74, where authorities are investigating what they are calling a murder connected to a road rage incident involving a tow truck driver.
According to investigators with the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened just past Vista Point along Highway 74 and stretched into the Ribbonwood area.
Officials say a tow truck collided with another vehicle near Vista Point before the situation escalated. Investigators have not yet released full details surrounding what led up to the shooting, but they confirmed one person has died.
Authorities have shut down the highway in the area and warn residents and drivers to expect extended delays. Officials say the roadway could remain closed for at least four hours as investigators process the scene.
