The festival will take place June 23 through June 29 and feature 329 short films representing 71 countries and territories. Organizers say this year's program includes more than 50 world premieres and nearly 140 films directed by women.
The lineup also features projects starring several well-known actors, including Patton Oswalt, Melissa Joan Hart, Alan Cumming, Richard Kind, and Christopher Meloni.
Recognized as one of North America's premier short film festivals, ShortFest serves as a launching pad for emerging filmmakers and a showcase for innovative storytelling from around the world.
The festival's competitive program includes five Oscar-qualifying categories, giving winning filmmakers an opportunity to advance toward consideration for the Academy Awards. Winners will be announced on June 28.
Organizers say cash prizes totaling $38,000 will be awarded during the festival.
