Riverside County Deputies Search for 28-Year-Old Man Missing in Palm Desert
An active search is underway in the northern stretch of Palm Desert after a 28-year-old man was reported missing. The Riverside County Sheriff's Department has issued a public safety alert, requesting immediate assistance from regional residents and commuters who may have seen the individual or traveled through the area.
According to sheriff's officials, Miguel Angel Chavez was last seen on Tuesday afternoon in the vicinity of Coyote Song Way, located just north of the Sun City Palm Desert residential community near Washington Street and Varner Road. Deputies initially responded to a missing persons report later that afternoon and immediately initiated a localized search of the surrounding neighborhood and desert terrain. Despite utilizing field assets, search teams were unable to locate him.
Chavez is described as a male standing 5 feet 11 inches tall, with dark brown hair and brown eyes. At the time of his disappearance, he was last seen wearing a navy blue polo shirt, dark-colored shorts, and Converse sneakers.
The investigation remains active and ongoing as deputies work to track his final known movements.
