Median Landscaping Work to Cause Lane Closures in Indian Wells

Motorists traveling through Indian Wells should prepare for temporary lane closures as city crews begin median landscaping work along several major roadways.

The project will take place over the next few weeks and will affect traffic on Cook Street, Eldorado Drive, and Fred Waring Drive.

On June 9, the lanes closest to the median on Cook Street will be closed in both directions while crews complete landscaping improvements.

Similar lane closures are scheduled for Eldorado Drive on June 11.

Additional work is planned on Fred Waring Drive from June 16 through June 18, when the eastbound lane closest to the median will be closed.

City officials say all traffic lanes will remain open during the work, but drivers may experience delays near active construction areas.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible and to follow all posted construction signs and traffic control measures.

The city says the landscaping project is part of ongoing efforts to maintain and enhance roadway medians throughout Indian Wells.
