Palm Springs Firefighters Fish Fry reels in the community for 93rd Year
One of Palm Springs' longest-running traditions is returning this weekend as the Palm Springs Firefighters Association hosts its 93rd Annual Fish Fry at Ruth Hardy Park.
The event, which dates back to 1931, has become a staple of the community, bringing together residents, firefighters, and families for an evening of food and fellowship. Organizers say the Fish Fry remains one of the association's most important fundraisers, helping support community outreach programs and events throughout the year.
Firefighters will serve up approximately 500 pounds of trout cooked in the department's mobile fish fry trailer. Guests can also choose hamburgers or hot dogs, with meal tickets priced at $15. Sides include corn, coleslaw, watermelon, and a dinner roll.
In addition to food, attendees can enjoy a beer garden, raffle prizes, baked goods, association merchandise, and opportunities to meet Palm Springs firefighters and their families.
This year's event will also feature appearances by El Diablo, a historic symbol of the Palm Springs Fire Department that association members are working to restore, and Max, the department's working dog, who will be attending his first Fish Fry.
According to organizers, proceeds from the event help fund programs such as the annual Easter Egg Hunt, backpack giveaways, local sponsorships, and other community initiatives.
