Planned Outage Hits South Palm Springs for the Second Day in a Row

South Palm Springs residents are facing another day without power, this time by design. Southern California Edison has a scheduled maintenance outage running from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Thursday, affecting around 365 customers near the Biltmore Colony neighborhood while the company upgrades equipment in the area.

The repair work follows two separate power outages on Wednesday in the same area of the city, the most recent knocking out power for more than 15,000 customers starting around 6 p.m. That outage was traced to a problem at a substation, and power was restored before 8 p.m.

If you live near the Biltmore Colony, plan for a full day without power. Edison lists the outage number as 800527168.
