Palm Desert Sunset Rotary Club Expands Service Opportunities for Working Professionals
The newly chartered Palm Desert Sunset Rotary Club is creating new opportunities for working professionals to become involved in community service while accommodating busy schedules.
The club was established to provide Rotary's humanitarian service opportunities through meetings held after traditional work hours, making participation more accessible for professionals who may be unable to attend daytime gatherings.
At the club's most recent meeting, College of the Desert Superintendent and President Val Garcia served as the featured speaker, leading an interactive discussion focused on mental health resilience.
Garcia also highlighted the many educational programs and resources available through College of the Desert, including initiatives aimed at reducing financial barriers for students and expanding access to higher education throughout the Coachella Valley.
Attendees had the opportunity to engage in conversation about mental wellness, personal growth and the role higher education plays in strengthening local communities.
Rotary leaders say the Palm Desert Sunset Rotary Club was created to attract a new generation of community-minded professionals interested in networking, leadership development and service projects that make a positive impact locally and around the world.
The club meets on the second Wednesday of each month at Woodhaven Country Club in Palm Desert.
Organizers encourage anyone interested in community service and professional engagement to learn more about joining the organization and participating in future events.
