Brush Fire Contained in Cathedral City, Burns Half Acre
A brush fire that broke out in Cathedral City on Thursday afternoon has been fully contained, according to Cal Fire.
The fire was reported at approximately 3:30 p.m. and burned about half an acre before firefighters were able to stop its spread.
Smoke from the fire was visible across parts of the Coachella Valley and could be seen from NBC Palm Springs' Agua Caliente Casino camera.
Fire crews responded quickly to the scene and worked to contain the flames, preventing the fire from growing larger or threatening nearby structures.
Officials reported no injuries as a result of the incident.
Cal Fire also confirmed that no homes, businesses or other property were damaged by the fire.
The cause of the fire has not been released.
As temperatures rise and vegetation dries out across the region, fire officials continue to remind residents to remain vigilant and report any signs of smoke or fire immediately.
The incident remains under investigation.
