Brush fire erupts near I-10 freeway, half-acre burning

A brush fire has broken out on the border of Cathedral City with smoke visible from Agua Caliente Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage and the I-10 freeway.

According to Cal Fire, the flames were first reported around 3:30 p.m. with a half-acre currently burning.

Multiple units are currently in transit to assist. No injuries have been reported so far.
