XOXO Palm Springs: A New 12-Day Festival Kicks Off Today

Palm Springs is kicking off a brand-new festival today, bringing twelve days of arts, music, film, and cultural experiences to venues across the city. XOXO Palm Springs runs through June 22 and is rooted in celebrating the creativity and stories that define the desert community.

Events are spread across theaters, galleries, historic landmarks, boutique hotels, and outdoor stages throughout Palm Springs. Theater-goers can catch the Desert Shakespeare Festival's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Plaza Theatre, while the Palm Springs Cultural Center is hosting screenings, including Sinatra in Palm Springs, along with talks and cinema events. Modernism Week is also participating as part of the festival's programming.

On the music and entertainment side, the festival includes live DJ sets, stage performances, and a free outdoor Tina Turner tribute concert by Debby Holiday. Comedy fans can check out Avery Pearson's Comedian Rhapsody featuring Josh Wolf, and The Bent theatre company presents The Lincoln Debate on June 18 and 19.

For those drawn to the visual arts, gallery walks and artist receptions are happening across the Lofts Art District, the Backstreet Art District, Via Negocio, and the SOTA Arts District. The Truck Stop Art Fair is also part of the week's offerings, alongside tribal cultural experiences at the Agua Caliente Cultural Museum and Plaza.

Events are a mix of free and ticketed, and open to both residents and visitors. Tickets and a full schedule are available here
