Festival Theaters Palm Springs Expands Summer Lineup with Film Premieres and Special Guest Conversations
Festival Theaters Palm Springs is expanding its summer entertainment lineup with a series of special film screenings, premieres and live conversations featuring acclaimed performers and filmmakers.
Among the featured events is a July 2 screening of "Atropia," followed by a career retrospective and question-and-answer session with Palm Springs native and actress Alia Shawkat. Shawkat is known for her work in television and film, including acclaimed roles in comedy and independent productions.
Later in the month, Emmy-nominated comedian John Early will visit the theater for a July 23 screening of his film "Maddie's Secret." Following the screening, Early will participate in a discussion with audience members, offering insights into the project and his creative process.
The expanded programming is designed to give audiences an opportunity to engage directly with artists while experiencing new and noteworthy films on the big screen.
In addition to the guest appearances, Festival Theaters Palm Springs will host screenings connected to the Palm Springs International ShortFest, one of North America's largest showcases of short-form filmmaking. The festival attracts filmmakers and movie enthusiasts from around the world and is recognized for highlighting emerging talent and award-winning short films.
Organizers say the summer series reflects the theater's continued commitment to bringing unique cultural and cinematic experiences to the Coachella Valley, offering residents and visitors a chance to connect with artists and celebrate the art of filmmaking throughout the season.
