Lane Closures Planned on Cook Street in Indian Wells for Palm Tree Replacement

Motorists in Indian Wells can expect traffic delays next week as crews begin a landscaping project along Cook Street.

City officials announced that palm trees in the median between Fairway Drive and the La Rocca entrance will be replaced on June 24 and June 25. To accommodate the work, one lane in each direction on Cook Street will be closed during the project.

The temporary lane reductions are expected to slow traffic through the area as crews remove and replace the existing trees.

Officials are encouraging drivers to plan ahead and consider using alternate routes whenever possible to help reduce congestion and avoid delays. Residents and commuters traveling through the corridor should allow extra travel time during the two-day project.

The palm tree replacement is part of ongoing efforts to maintain and enhance the city's landscaping and streetscape. Indian Wells is known for its well-maintained roadways and public spaces, and city officials say periodic maintenance projects are necessary to preserve those features.

Drivers are reminded to use caution when traveling through construction zones, obey posted signs and watch for workers and equipment in the area.

The lane closures will remain in effect while work is underway on June 24 and 25, with normal traffic patterns expected to resume once the project is completed.
