Mexico Fans Pack Cathedral City for World Cup Watch Party, Firebirds' Logan Morrison Signs Kraken Deal
Soccer fans packed the 360 Sports Bar at Agua Caliente Casino Cathedral City as Mexico faced South Korea in World Cup action.
The watch party brought together supporters from across the Coachella Valley, many sporting Mexico jerseys and cheering on their team in a lively atmosphere.
Fans said the energy of watching the match alongside fellow supporters made for a much different experience than watching from home, with many expressing optimism about Mexico's chances in the matchup.
The evening also featured some notable local sports news. Former Coachella Valley Firebirds standout Logan Morrison has signed a one-year contract with the Seattle Kraken.
Morrison has been a key contributor for the Firebirds during their recent playoff runs. Last season, he appeared in 68 games, recording 29 goals and 32 assists.
As Mexico and South Korea battled on the pitch, fans at the Cathedral City watch party settled in for what many expected to be one of Mexico's toughest matches of the tournament so far.
