Palm Springs VillageFest Shifts to Seasonal Summer Hours on Palm Canyon Drive
PALM SPRINGS, California — Organizers have issued a friendly reminder that Palm Springs VillageFest has officially transitioned to its summer operating hours for the season. The iconic weekly street fair, which transforms downtown Palm Canyon Drive every Thursday evening, will now welcome visitors and shoppers from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
The adjusted three-hour schedule remains in effect from the beginning of June through the end of September. Pushing the event's start time back by an hour allows vendors, entertainers, and patrons to better navigate the intense, triple-digit daytime temperatures characteristic of a summer in the Coachella Valley, shifting the festivities into the slightly cooler evening hours.
While the arrival of extreme summer heat typically marks a seasonal slowdown for many desert brick-and-mortar operations, downtown Palm Springs establishments are utilizing the weekly gathering to keep local foot traffic moving. Numerous restaurants, boutiques, and art galleries along the primary corridor continue to extend their lights and operations late into the evening to align directly with the outdoor market. The street fair features nearly 200 vendor booths offering a diverse mix of handcrafted goods, eclectic art, and unique food choices, maintaining its status as a premier evening attraction for residents and tourists alike.
