Shore Fire 67% Contained as Evacuation Orders Lifted

Firefighters are getting the upper hand on the Shore Fire near Calimesa, with the blaze now 67% contained and holding steady in size after Cal Fire reported it hasn't grown since yesterday's count of 3,085 acres.
As the fire gets under control, officials have lifted all evacuation orders for residential areas, though two warnings remain near the edge of Beaumont, meaning those residents can stay but should still be ready to leave if conditions change. An order remains only over the active fire footprint itself, where crews are still working and public access stays restricted. Residents can check the Shore Fire incident page to see whether their zone is affected.
With conditions improving, the evacuation shelters set up for residents and animals have now closed, and the Palm Springs Fire Department, which sent crews to help battle the blaze, has returned home to the Coachella Valley. Anyone still needing help or shelter resources is asked to contact the American Red Cross at 1-800-RED-CROSS.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
