Beam delivery to shut down stretch of South Palm Canyon Drive Monday
Traffic on South Palm Canyon Drive will come to a stop at times on Monday, June 22, as crews deliver and lift 90-foot-long beams into the bridge project work zone.
The holds will run from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. between East Camino Parocela and Mesquite Avenue. Flaggers will stop traffic while trucks bring the beams in, and again when a crane lifts them off the trucks and into place.
Drivers should expect delays and use alternate routes when possible, officials say. The city is also asking people to slow down and use caution near the work zone. Businesses in the area will stay open throughout construction.
The schedule could change if weather or conditions on site shift.
