Hashtag Trivia
Flip Flops, Martinis, and Garfield, Oh My, It's a Holiday Hat Trick on Hashtag Holiday Calendar and Pop Quiz
Friday, June 19th, 2026 is a big day for a lot of reasons, starting with Juneteenth, but it turns out the calendar is stacked with a few lesser known holidays too, and weatherman Jerry Steffen broke them all down on this week's Hashtag Holiday Calendar and Pop Quiz, brought to you by One Coachella Valley.
First up is National Flip Flop Day, celebrated every year on the third Friday in June. It is a bit of an odd one for desert dwellers who tend to avoid flip flops most of the year, but with summer officially arriving on Sunday, today is the day to let those feet breathe.
Next on the list is National Dry Martini Day. A traditional dry martini uses less vermouth, letting the botanical notes of the gin or vodka take center stage, which makes for a pretty solid pairing with those new flip flops.
And finally, today marks National Garfield the Cat Day, celebrating the date back in 1978 when Jim Davis' comic strip Garfield the Cat first hit newspapers. That meant it was time for not one, but two Garfield themed quiz questions.
Think you know your lasagna loving, Monday hating, famously orange cat well enough to ace it? Test your knowledge by watching the segment above, and see if you can answer both questions before the reveal.
According to the comic strip, Garfield, who belongs to John Arbuckle, dislikes dogs, spiders, Mondays, and dieting, but he absolutely loves one dish he calls nature's most perfect food. What is it?

B) Chicken parmesan
C) Spaghetti and meatballs
Before the 2024 animated film The Garfield Movie, there was the 2004 live-action comedy Garfield the Movie. Jack Nicholson was reportedly considered to voice the finicky cat, but the role eventually went to someone else. Who ended up voicing Garfield?
A) Bill Murray
B) Jack Black
C) Will Ferrell
