Manny the Movie Guy says Netflix's "I Will Find You" is the binge you won't want to pause

If you're hunting for your next obsession, Netflix has it ready. The streamer just dropped "I Will Find You," the latest thriller from bestselling author Harlan Coben, and NBC Palm Springs' Manny the Movie Guy says it's nearly impossible to turn off.

Sam Worthington stars as David Burroughs, a man serving a life sentence for a crime he didn't commit. But Manny says clearing his name isn't even the real story, it's about finding his missing son. Britt Lower plays Rachel, David's sister-in-law and a journalist who gets pulled into the case and ends up living it firsthand rather than just reporting on it.

Manny says what makes the show stand out is what it avoids. There's no slow-burn romance and none of the usual fugitive-on-the-run clichés, just two people bound together by something they don't need to explain out loud.

The series is based on Coben's novel of the same name, though this marks the first time in his partnership with Netflix that a story has been set in the United States. Showrunner Robert Hull also made a notable change from the book, turning what were once separate, parallel storylines into a true two-hander, keeping David and Rachel side by side for the entire chase.

Rounding out the cast, Logan Browning plays FBI agent Sarah Greer, with Chi McBride as her steady, unflappable partner, Max Williams. At its heart, Manny says, the show taps into something nearly every viewer can relate to: every family has a secret, whether they admit it or not.
