York Revolution Return to Field After Pride Night Jersey Controversy

YORK, Pa. — The York Revolution returned to the diamond Friday night for the first time since drawing national attention over the cancellation of their annual Pride Night game.

The controversy began when team management announced Wednesday that the game would be forfeited after reports surfaced that a majority of players declined to wear special Pride-themed jerseys, prompting widespread reaction online and in the local community.

Fans packed WellSpan Park as the team took the field again, with emotions ranging from disappointment to support.

Superfan James Nori said he attended the original Pride Night event and returned Friday to stand by both the team and the broader community.

“I was probably sad,” Nori said. “Why would anybody hate somebody else?”

Team officials emphasized their commitment to making the ballpark a welcoming place for everyone in York.

“There’s no good way to get everybody everything they want, but our primary function at WellSpan Park is to welcome the community in and be the most welcoming place in York,” management said.

“I think it’s important to have all types of representation because everyone deserves a space,” said one fan.
