Palm Springs Aerial Tramway Announces Free Admission for July Military Days

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. — The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway has officially announced the return of its popular Military Days promotion, providing an entire month of complimentary access to United States armed forces personnel. Operating throughout the month of July, the annual summer initiative serves as a localized tribute and gesture of appreciation for the sacrifices made by active-duty, former, and retired service members.

Under the terms of the month-long promotion, all qualifying military personnel who present valid military identification at the Valley Station ticket window will receive a free general admission ticket to ride the world's largest rotating tram car. In addition to complimentary passage up the breathtaking cliffs of Chino Canyon, participating service members will be presented with a special commemorative gift. The specialized outreach program also extends full complimentary admission privileges to the spouses of actively deployed military members, as well as to military widows and widowers across the region.

Recognizing that many service members visit the mountain destination with loved ones, the tramway is also providing financial relief for accompanying parties. Service members can secure a 25 percent discount on regular tramway admission fares for up to four friends or family members traveling in their group. Once at the peak, visitors can escape the valley's intense summer heat by experiencing temperatures that are typically 30 degrees cooler than the desert floor.

At the Mountain Station, situated at an elevation of 8,516 feet within Mount San Jacinto State Park, guests have access to more than 50 miles of pristine wilderness hiking trails. Additional seasonal amenities include free guided nature walks led by state park volunteers on weekends, a natural history museum, and mountaintop dining options at Peaks Restaurant or Pines Cafe. The Military Days promotion will run daily through July 31, 2026, offering a cool mountain sanctuary for the nation's military community.
