A major affordable housing bill that received overwhelming bipartisan support in Congress is now awaiting action from President Donald Trump.

The legislation, which passed both the House and Senate, is designed to address the nation's housing affordability crisis by encouraging new home construction and limiting the ability of large institutional investors to purchase most newly built homes. The bill also includes incentives for local governments to modernize zoning regulations and reduce barriers to residential development.
