Three-Vehicle Crash Temporarily Closes Gerald Ford Drive in Rancho Mirage
A three-vehicle crash temporarily closed a busy intersection in Rancho Mirage Friday morning, sending two people to the hospital.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded just before 10 a.m. to the intersection of Gerald Ford Drive and Monterey Avenue following reports of a traffic collision.
When deputies arrived, they found three vehicles with significant collision damage. Emergency crews treated those involved at the scene before transporting two people to a local hospital. Authorities said both patients were in stable condition.
Investigators have not announced any arrests, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
The intersection was temporarily closed while deputies documented the scene and crews worked to clear the damaged vehicles from the roadway. The closure caused traffic delays in the area during the morning commute.
Officials have since reopened Gerald Ford Drive and Monterey Avenue to traffic.
