H.N. and Frances C. Berger Foundation Awards $25,000 Impact Grant to Pathfinder Ranch for Summer Camp Scholarships

More Coachella Valley children will have the opportunity to experience outdoor summer camp this season thanks to a newly announced wave of charitable funding support. The H.N. and Frances C. Berger Foundation has awarded a $25,000 impact grant to Pathfinder Ranch, a mountain retreat located near Idyllwild in the San Jacinto Mountains.

The newly finalized funding will directly provide approximately 29 scholarships for campers, helping local children who might not otherwise be able to afford the financial cost of an overnight sleepaway camp experience. In addition to expanding camp accessibility, the impact grant will support the ranch's specialized equine education program. Through this hands-on curriculum, campers interact directly with horses to build personal responsibility, leadership skills, and self-confidence.

Situated in the mountain wilderness, Pathfinder Ranch serves youth aged 7 to 17, offering a variety of traditional outdoor activities designed to foster personal growth. Campers participate in team-building exercises, archery, and guided hiking throughout the ranch's natural terrain.

Registration is currently open for the remaining summer camp sessions, which are scheduled to run through July 23, 2026. Families interested in learning more about available scholarship opportunities, session availability, or enrollment guidelines are encouraged to apply before the mid-July conclusion.
