World Cup Fever Grips Coachella Valley as Mexico-Ecuador Clash in the Round 32

World Cup excitement was on full display at Agua Caliente Casino's 360 Sports Bar in Cathedral City as soccer fans packed the venue to cheer on Mexico in its crucial win-or-go-home matchup against Ecuador. The highly anticipated knockout-round contest, however, was put on hold after thunder and lightning in the Mexico City area forced a weather delay before kickoff. While fans waited for play to begin, the energy inside the casino remained high with chants and horns.

It is a game that may be decided early as Mexico has been on a hot streak with three straight clean sheets. However, Ecuador will not go down easily after coming off a thrilling victory at the end of their group games, beating Germany. Continued coverage of the World Cup will be on NBC Palm Springs, both online and during the newscasts.
