Hashtag Trivia
Aliens, Aniseed and America, It's Your Hashtag Holiday Calendar Pop Quiz
The day kicked off with National Anisette Day, celebrating the sweet, aromatic liqueur distilled from aniseed and best known for its distinct licorice flavor. It's also National Made in the USA Day, a nod to shopping domestic, and World Sports Journalist Day, a tip of the cap to the reporters and anchors who cover the games. NBC Palm Springs sports fans can catch Tim O'Brien filling in tomorrow, with Caitlin Kelly stepping in on Monday.
Then there's the big one, World UFO Day, observed on both June 24th and July 2nd. Today's date ties back to the mysterious debris found on a sheep ranch near Roswell, New Mexico, in early July of 1947, the very discovery that kicked off decades of conspiracy theories. UFOs became the theme for today's two pop quiz questions, both built around alien pop culture.
