Firefighters Quickly Contain RV Fire in Indio, Preventing Spread to Nearby Home
Firefighters quickly stopped an RV fire in Indio Friday afternoon, preventing the flames from spreading to a nearby mobile home.
Emergency crews were dispatched just before 1 p.m. to the area of Mary Lane after receiving reports of a recreational vehicle on fire. Firefighters arrived quickly and were able to contain the blaze to the RV, protecting nearby structures from damage.
According to initial reports, the RV was not occupied when the fire started. Officials said there were no injuries, fatalities or resident displacements as a result of the incident.
Fire officials are reminding residents to practice fire safety around their homes, especially during the hot summer months.
"We encourage our residents to maintain the same engagement as we do. Just practice safe fire safety around the home, make sure you take the proper precautions and be well aware of your surroundings and what you have going on," a fire official said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
