Meet Lisa from the Palm Springs Animal Shelter

Dan Rossi with the Palm Springs Animal Shelter stopped by the studio this week with Lisa, a five-year-old pit bull mix, hoping to find a new family.

Lisa recently came to the shelter after her owner experienced a serious health crisis and could no longer care for her. She's a sweet, affectionate girl who's housetrained, rides well in the car, walks nicely on leash and has been around children. She's more of a couch potato than an athlete, happiest spending time with her family and relaxing by their side. She's still new to the shelter, but staff can hardly walk her through the building without stopping to say hello, she's already become one of their favorites.

The shelter says everything they've seen so far tells them Lisa will make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a calm, loving dog.

A few other animals are also looking for homes right now. Perseus is a playful, energetic husky mix who'd do best with an active family. Anakin is a three-year-old pit bull terrier mix known for his good nature with kids, cats, and other dogs. And Binx is an affectionate four-year-old black tuxedo cat who came to the shelter as a stray.

Speaking of staff, the shelter is also asking for volunteers, especially dog walkers, as well as cat cuddlers and fosters, since many seasonal volunteers head home for the summer. Those interested can find more information on the shelter's website.
