75-Year-Old Woman Pedestrian Fatally Struck from Crash

A 75-year-old woman was killed after being struck by a vehicle Saturday night in Indio.

Indio Police says Estela Garza of Bermuda Dunes was hit by a white Audi around 11 p.m. at the intersection of Golf Center Parkway and Avenue 44. Her identity was confirmed by the coroner's office.

Garza was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center, where she later died from her injuries.

Investigators with the Indio Police Department say the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
