Deep Purple Teams Up with Keith Urban on New Album 'Splat'

Rock legends Deep Purple are proving they still have plenty of creative energy with the release of their 24th studio album, "Splat."

The iconic band says its songwriting process remains a collaborative effort, with each member contributing ideas that come together to shape the final songs.

"We don't have a dedicated songwriter, so whatever we create is always a cooperative venture," a band member explained. "It's all the little different ideas that people bring into the writing situation."

The album was recorded at country music star Keith Urban's recording studio in Nashville, where Urban also joined the band in the studio. The Grammy-winning musician contributed a guest guitar performance on the track "Diablo."

"It's a nice collaboration with somebody we consider a new friend because he's a really great player," the band said. "Some of these country dudes really can play really, really well. Nashville cats."

The collaboration blends Deep Purple's classic hard rock sound with Urban's acclaimed guitar work, highlighting the mutual respect shared between artists from different musical genres.
