Candidate Filing Period Opens for Coachella Municipal Election

A local election update tonight as the Coachella begins accepting candidate filings for this year's general municipal election.

Voters will elect one mayor to a two-year term and two city council members to four-year terms for the Nov. 3 election.

Candidates can obtain nomination papers beginning July 13 through Aug. 7 by appointment at Coachella City Hall.

Polling places across the city will be open on Election Day from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
