2026 Emmy Nominations Announced: “The Pitt,” “Hacks” and “Paradise” Among Top Nominees

The Television Academy has announced the nominees for the 2026 Emmy Awards, honoring the year’s best television shows and performances.

HBO Max’s medical drama “The Pitt” scored big with 25 nominations, including nods for Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actor for Noah Wyle. The series is among the favorites after winning five Emmys last year.

Apple TV’s “Pluribus” is also competing for Outstanding Drama Series, with Ray Seehorn nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress. Hulu’s “Paradise” is another drama contender, with Sterling K. Brown nominated for lead actor.

The drama category also includes “The Diplomat,” “The Gilded Age,” “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,” “Slow Horses” and “Your Friends and Neighbors.”

In comedy, HBO Max’s “Hacks” earned 24 nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series. Jean Smart is looking for her fifth win for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

Other comedy nominees include “The Bear,” “Abbott Elementary,” “Nobody Wants This,” “Only Murders in the Building” and “Shrinking.” Newcomers “Widow’s Bay” and “Margo’s Got Money Troubles” are also competing.

Stephen Colbert’s “The Late Show” final season is nominated for Outstanding Variety Series alongside “The Daily Show,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver” and “Saturday Night Live.”

The 2026 Emmy Awards will air Monday, September 14 on NBC, with Mariska Hargitay serving as host.

Additional nominees include Peacock’s “The Traitors” for Outstanding Reality or Reality Competition Series, with host Alan Cumming also nominated. “Love Island” host Ariana Madix received a nomination, while Peacock’s “All Her Fault” earned recognition for Outstanding Limited Series and an acting nomination for Sarah Snook.
