Excessive Heat Warning Continues Across Coachella Valley Through Thursday

The Coachella Valley remains under an Excessive Heat Warning through Thursday as dangerous temperatures continue across the region.

Wednesday's high temperatures climbed well into the triple digits, with Palm Desert reaching 116 degrees. Palm Springs, Thousand Palms and Indio each topped out at 115 degrees.

In addition to the intense heat, humidity levels have increased, making conditions feel even more uncomfortable and raising the risk of heat-related illnesses.

Meteorologist Pablo Alcina is encouraging residents to take extra precautions by drinking plenty of water, staying indoors whenever possible and avoiding prolonged outdoor activity during the hottest parts of the day.

Health officials recommend checking on older adults, young children and pets, who are especially vulnerable during periods of extreme heat.

The Excessive Heat Warning remains in effect through Thursday, and residents are encouraged to continue monitoring the latest forecasts and heat safety information.
