Firebirds Bring Back Veteran Forward Mitchell Stephens on Two-Year Deal

Mitchell Stephens is staying in the Coachella Valley. The Coachella Valley Firebirds announced they have signed the veteran forward to a two-year American Hockey League contract that will keep him with the organization through the 2027-28 season. Stephens, 29, returns after appearing in 57 games for the Firebirds during the 2025-26 season, tallying nine goals and 11 assists for 20 points. Since joining Coachella Valley during the 2024-25 campaign, Stephens became a veteran leader inside the locker room. With another experienced leader returning, the Firebirds add valuable depth, leadership, and championship experience as they continue building their roster for the upcoming AHL season.
