Palm Springs Returns with Annual Back-to-School Fair and Backpack Drive

The Palm Springs and its Palm Springs Department of Parks and Recreation are inviting families to attend the city's annual Back-to-School Fair.

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Palm Springs Leisure Center.

Families are encouraged to register in advance to secure a spot for their children. Students who attend will receive free backpacks filled with school supplies, access to community resource booths, activities, complimentary swim center day passes and limited free back-to-school haircuts.

The city is also seeking volunteer barbers and hairstylists to help provide the free haircuts, along with donations of school supplies to support local students heading back to class.

Donation drop off locations for school supplies include the Palm Springs Leisure Center, the James O. Jessie Highland Unity Center and the Demuth Community Center.
