Raspberries, Razzies, and Freezer Pops: It's Pop Quiz Time

It's National Coca-Cola Day, marking the anniversary of the drink's very first sale back in 1886 at Jacobs Pharmacy in Atlanta, Georgia, where it was originally sold as a medicinal tonic for just five cents.

It's also National Freezer Pop Day, celebrating those long plastic tubes of sweetened, flavored, colored water that freeze into stickless popsicles, and yes, there is an adult version out there for the grown-ups.

Then there's National Be a Kid Again Day, your official excuse to skip the adulting and tap into your inner grade schooler, monkey bars and all.

Rounding things out is National Raspberry Day, since raspberry season runs from June through mid-July, making now the perfect time to sprinkle a few on your cereal. Naturally, raspberries became the theme of the day on Hashtag Holiday Calendar and Pop Quiz, brought to you by One Coachella Valley and hosted by our own weatherman, Jerry Steffen.

Jerry brought two raspberry-flavored questions to the table this time around, one all about power pop and one all about Hollywood's most infamous "achievement." Think you know your music trivia and your movie trivia? Put your knowledge to the test with the questions below, then watch the attached video to see if you got them right. No spoilers here, the answers are all in the segment.

  1. 1) The Cleveland-based rock band the Raspberries were the quintessential power pop group of the early 1970s, known for hits like "Let's Pretend," "I Wanna Be With You," and "Go All The Way." Who was the lead singer and chief songwriter for the Raspberries?

A) Burton Cummings

B) Eric Carman

C) Peter Cetera

  1. 2) The Golden Raspberry Awards, better known as the Razzies, are a satirical awards show honoring the worst films, actors, and screenplays of the year. Thanks to films like "Rhinestone," "Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot," "Spy Kids 3D: Game Over," and "The Specialist," who currently holds the all-time record for the most individual Razzie nominations in the award's 45-year history?

A) Ben Stiller

B) Clint Eastwood

C) Sylvester Stallone

Think you nailed both answers? Watch the video above to find out if you're a raspberry trivia champion or if you struck out like Jerry did the day before. Either way, tune in tomorrow for another round of Hashtag Holiday Calendar and Pop Quiz.
